How to Feel Energised with PCOS Fatigue

Many of us with PCOS struggle with fatigue (with a Capital F)

Why do Cyster's Feel Tired?

No, you're not Lazy or Over-Exaccurating. The truth is Babes, your body is EXHAUSTED. So you're wondering what causes PCOS Fatigue? Cortisol Dysregulation, Insulin Resistance and Blood Sugar Sugar Dips can all contribute to the feeling that you could fall asleep at any minute!

Cortisol

Cortisol is the Main Character of this Show!

Cortisol is an essential steroid hormone produced by the adrenal glands that affects almost every organ and tissue in your body. It downregulate non-essential functions like ovulation & digestion, increases Blood Sugar (Glucose) and helps to control your body's use of fats, proteins and carbohydrates, or your metabolism.

The body sends out Cortisol when it's experiencing stress, notice I said it's because although we personally don't feel stressed, the body has a mind of its own 🙂

‍When does the body Experience Stress?

🧁 Inflammatory Foods

😫 Work/Life Stress

😴 Lack of Restful Sleep

🐙 Work-Life Imbalance

🤬 External Frustrations - Other people (Boss, partner, friends, random dude at the grocery store)

😓 Internal Frustrations - Unresolved Trauma

When the body is pumping out Cortisol from Stress All-Day-Long! 😩 The Adrenals are working overtime and although a necessary hormone when Elevated Cortisol has Negative Side Effects on the body

How to Lower Cortisol:

✨ Meditate

✨ Resistance Training (Pilates)

✨ Therapy of Choice

✨ Eliminate Inflammatory foods

✨ Herbs & Supplementation (as prescribed by a health practitioner)

How to Feel more ENERGISED⚡

✨ Eat regular meals - focus on higher protein meals to help avoid blood sugar crashes 💥

✨ Enjoy lunch outside - The vitamin D from the Sun, fresh air & nature will help to calm the nervous system and boost your energy

✨ 10-30 Minutes Pilates - Resistance training (Pilates) helps to lower cortisol levels, lowering cortisol = less stress = less fatigue

✨ Bonus Tip: Moring Walks - A low-intensity walk around the block also helps to lower cortisol, the morning sun and nature are also great for the mind & soul 💜

Ps. You're still a Badass Woman 💃

In Summary, Stress = Cortisol = Spike in Blood Sugar (glucose) = Insulin Resistance = Unable to effectively use Glucose = TIRED!
